What sorts of questions do you ask yourself when creating a lesson? Sometimes I just feel like my creativity level is out or low, and I really want to connect with my students. I want them to feel like what we are doing is useful to them. I love what I do, and I'm usually really excited when they come into the classroom, but I don't feel like that is enough--where do you suggest we start?

Any chance you are the Bogush who used to homeschool their children when they were young?

Anyway I will follow your tweets as I care about education of children.

I'm just not in "twitter mode" yet. I'm not sure I have time for it. I learned how to program computers in 1961 so I'm not afraid of tech, but it seems my plate is full: I'm on three education list-servs, write two columns a month plus an occasional op-ed, blog for the huffington Post anytime I think about it (that's what I mean by twitter mode--I first think of Huffpo www.huffingtonpost.com/gerald-bracey), and I operate the Education Disinformation Detection and Reporting Agency, a moderated group of about 2,000 people mostly in the US but abroad as well, and mostly, but not all, educators (lawyers, consultants, politicians, etc).

So it's not like I'm a social isolate.

I don't know where I'd find the time to follow folk on twitter. Help hints accepted.

Thanks for your comment on my blog Paul. The additions of student work provide great examples of what is possible with Audacity.

Dear Paul,

The Healthy Schools Campaign is launching a multimedia contest on March 16th, asking for your most vivid school lunch memory, open to students (grades K-12) and adults. Our hope is to make contact with fresh voices who support fresh choices for school lunches, and to support a healthy reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act in 2009.

Writing (up to 400 words), a photo or image (up to 2MB), or a video (30 seconds-3 minutes long) will be accepted as entries. For students, the prizes will be:

HSC Student winner: A healthy and delicious breakfast from Notables for your entire school.

HSC Student Image winner: A healthy and delicious breakfast from Notables for your entire class, plus their image printed on thousands of Notables bags around the U.S. (For more info on Notables, go here: http://www.notables.com/NS/index.html)

For adults, the prize package is a Panini Party in a Box, sponsored by T-Fal and Applegate Farms:
*Sandwich press from T-Fal
*Selection of Applegate Farms natural and organic meats and cheeses
*Artisan bread from Crossroads Bakery in Bucks County Pennsylvania
*A collection of handmade sandwich spreads from American Spoon Foods
*A variety of artisanal condiments from Rick’s Picks (featured in Gourmet Magazine)
*A selection of Kallari Chocolate for dessert-The only premium chocolate, from which 100% of the profits are returned to the Quichua people in the Rainforest who make it
*Handmade cutting board made with sustainably harvested Vermont maple
*Recipe cards featuring our favorite panini recipes

We would love for you or your students to enter our contest (and win!). We’d also love for you to tell your readers & students so that they can vote for your entry. Please contact Tara at tara@healthyschoolscampaign.org for more information.

On a more personal note, I hope this email is not offensive to you. I maintain my own personal blog, and am familiar with the annoyance of spammy messaging. If you have ideas on how The Healthy Schools Campaign might be able to promote your blog or better contribute to your interests – please be sure to let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Leena Trivedi-Grenier

Hey Paul- I am really interested in the .pdf you linked to in a conversation over at Clay's place on certification rubrics. For some odd reason I couldn't get it to come up.

I would really love to see it.

Could you try the link, or perhaps even mail at copy? =>nashworld@gmail.com

Thanks much,

Sean
